A little goodbye party/gathering over the weekend...

And while we are indeed very busy packing and soaking in our last days in Portland... don't worry, we're still feeding Henri!

Oh, and this was Eli's much anticipated "city bus" tour. He's into all things transportation. 

motherhood

As we prepared to move I was organizing some pictures/files and then pondering Mother's Day, which was spent packing and saying goodbye to friends, and generally a day that got lost in the wash of a move (though Eli and Moon had sweet gifts for me). These images meant something as I realized how much richer my life has become since I began the journey of motherhood.

Goodbye pacific

This was a greatly anticipated beach trip by Eli. A goodbye to the pacific. Haystack rock we'll miss you. For over 9 years we've been coming here. I've walked this coast pre-children, pregnant with Eli, with a 4 month old Eli asleep, pregnant with Henri, we came here 4 weeks after Henri was born. So we needed to say goodbye. Gorgeous day for it.

Easter cheer

Eli attends a lovely little preschool two mornings a week.

He looooves it. "Schwool day?" every morning over breakfast. 

At said preschool they do crafty things. 

Especially around holidays.

So he came home with a bunny.

We thought it was cute.

Our park

On a recent sunny day we went to the park two blocks away, oh how we love this park! So many memories here. 

Eli had his first (and last?) major accident here, but mostly the memories are happy, laughing, squealing, running, climbing, playing with friends type memories. 

The happy news is that we will have a park just two blocks from the place we believe will be our new home in Albuquerque. And lots of sunny days there!

I guess that's how you get a tongue injury at this park...

We are all getting very excited...

The match

This man...

had two babies in medical school. (Well, I actually HAD the babies, but he was there, and delivered the one above, so ya know, an important role ;)

and is an awesome dad and husband. And is now also an M.D.! 

He has matched in Family Medicine. These boys and I are his biggest fans. And we have no doubt he will do wonderful things to help many people. Tomorrow morning The Match reveal tells us where he will go (and we'll be along too) for residency to spend the next 3-4 years. We are so proud of you Moon!

double nap

Moon and I joke that getting both boys to nap at the same time is like winning the lottery. Maybe it will be easier when Henri consolidates to one midday nap which is also Eli's quiet time. We'll see...

Until then stroller naps do work from time to time...

And they both go to bed most nights around 6:30 so we get a decent evening stretch of quiet!

(Mom tip for winter stroller naps is to pull their beanie over their eyes, they sleep much better!)
