Sunday
Speaking of breaks... this morning was a nice one. No, not the 5:30 awakening of the little man, but rather Moon taking a break to join us at church. We remembered to grab a couple pictures when we got home. Now to a much needed nap...

taking breaks
The baby and I have been taking some afternoon trips over to visit Moon. It's amazing how much an hour break can give! It's just about the perfect late afternoon break for Eli as well. And the other day we got some sunshine for it.

office visit
We visited Moon yesterday in his office space. He is working so, so hard. Studying. All day. For 3 more weeks. But he took a break for us ;)

how to keep your baby entertained on a sunny day at work with you
Moon said, "it looks like he's on vacation." I see his point. All in the hat, I think. But taking ones baby to work is not a vacation. Staying home is more like it :). Here's to completing yet another week! Only one to go...

a first mothers day
Time spent with my guys, it was wonderful. A sleepy just awakened baby joined us for strawberry milkshakes on the balcony and then we all went on a long walk by the waterfront. Then the baby went to bed and we ate dinner and watched a movie.

6 months
And on the move!
How we love this little (though getting big!) baby boy of ours.
He smiles all the time. At the person behind me in line at the store this morning. At whomever is riding the elevator with us. He's a pretty happy fella.
But then I take his paper away (that he's happily eating, while tooth #4 comes in) and we see a moment of panic. The "warning: sadness is coming" face. Followed by a couple big frowns and then back to giggles when the paper is returned.
Yes, he keeps us on our toes.

first food
Today was his first taste of solid food. Though it was fairly "unsolid" actually. Avocado and milk. And he seemed to like it!
Sewing with stripes
Over the weekend I sewed Eli some short pants (or just shorts?) with an old striped shirt of mine I don't wear. I like how they turned out and hope they'll still fit him as we move into warmer days! I also made leg warmers out of the sleeves. Both were nice and easy.

Chubby
Caught in the right moment his cheeks look so chubby (and all those chins!). I love his serious look as he examines his toys (on his new exercauser which is a hand me down from a friend and totally worth every ounce of it's "plastic monstrosity" status in our space as he loves to stand up and bang on things :).

Bath time
Moon is in charge of bath time around here. But he let us watch the other night as we wanted to see the baby splash and kick like crazy. My favorite part remains scooping him up in a big towel at the end!
Grandma in pdx
We're having a great time with my mom! A walk in Laurelhurst park after picking up drinks at the Belmont Stumptown. And on Friday night she stayed home with (a sleeping!) Eli so Moon and I could go to dinner--our first "official" date in 6 months. It was wonderful.
