tired

This was after a morning of playing hard in the water. He really enjoyed himself and crashed halfway home in his carseat. I'm so thankful he has been really easy to transfer from car to crib for the last few months. Even with our noisy elevator ride. And who doesn't love some sweet, sleepy cuddle time on the way? Smile.

going out

We got a last minute invite to a local brewpub to celebrate a friends 30th birthday. So we thought we'd go, have a drink, forego dinner there with the boy, and readily bail when/if needed as we would be inching towards his bedtime. However, we did not need to be so cautious in our plans (this time!) as he was little angel toddler all evening. He sat the longest he ever has in restaurant high chair, generally delighted to watch everyone, eat a carrot, play with cars, and be outside. He even gave the birthday girl a hug! I should mention that he now gives on demand hugs and this is perhaps our favorite toddler milestone to date! He's a good hugger. The kisses are coming more slowly. And I guess are more of the goodnight variety. (This week though after he saw me kiss his daddy, he pulled Moon to him with a hand on either side of Moons face and just kissed him, then let go. It was hysterical in the moment because we've never seen him do anything like that, but he does pretty much want to mimic everything so...).

Adventures with daddy

On the streetcar.
His own seat.
Depositing a couple carrots next to him (for the next passenger?).
Skinned knee but one tough boy.

today

Eli got an early morning guitar lesson and a post dinner ice cream treat from the free little neighborhood ice cream social that a local business sponsored. Now he's running through the park with his daddy...
