new toy, new coffee shop, a new day

These 14+ hour days that Moon's been pulling have the babe and I getting out and about as we can. It just helps break up the long days. Today we were off to Clinton street, a favorite neighborhood of mine. A few groceries, one wooden toy with nontoxic paint that Eli can sharpen his teeth on, an iced latte at a new to me cafe that has cheery straws, and a little early fall sunshine makes us happy. Now to a late afternoon nap so we can stay up for that daddy's arrival home!

traveling pianist

Traveling pianist willing to perform at your next event.
Young talent.
Performing on his baby, baby grand.
Reasonable rates.
(ok, actually free as he has issues with trying to eat money.)

Will require frequent breaks from playing.
To eat.
Be changed.
You know...

Easily distracted.
Not highly reliable.

But very, very cute.
And did we mention his wheels will get him there all on his own...?

a visitor

Oh how we love us some visitors! Eli crawls quickly to the door when he hears it open. And he cries when we say goodbye and shut it. No kidding.

building blocks

Well, I do the building and he does the taking down. Though his daddy taught him to just take the top block off and leave the rest. Clever. We shall see how long that lasts...

nori

In all it's wonderful paper like texture
Eli loves this stuff!
And the bonus of some added iron to his diet...

waking up

sometimes waking up is hard to do.

you'd rather just go right back to bed.
and even when your shirt tells you that you're an allstar you just don't feel it.
at all.

but a little bit of time.
some examining of the buttons on your diaper.
and reminding yourself how much fun your life is.
or at least your toes... they are fun.
and things start to look up. real fast.

and then it's play time.

weekend away

saturday we drove to the coast.
someone slept the whole way there...
in his new carseat.

we arrived in time for a little lunch.
there were ceiling fans. and lots of people.
eli's favorite.
but by the end it was only this bucket that could keep him occupied.

so we went to the beach.
it was breezy.
a little chilly.
but beautiful.
and eli was snuggled up next to moon.

we stayed at a great little place right on the beach.
it was wonderful to look at the waves crashing
without having to be on the beach.
and we rested up and relaxed...
because the next day was a big one.

moon did a sprint triathlon.
eli and i were so proud of him as we watched.

first he swam (quite far!) in a lake.
one of those yellow heads is his.
i was cold just watching them.
but their wetsuits helped.

then he biked.
then he ran.
meanwhile we watched.
and played in the car.
and managed to be at the finish line
as he crossed it!
(i wasn't quite sure how the timing would line up with eli, but he did great)

so proud of our triathlete!
